Event Date
Hear from fellow students about a very cool class where you’ll learn how to identify plants and how they relate to each other.
And, we’ll have PIZZA!!! Plus, we’ll have an interactive, hands-on activity, where you’ll learn how researchers with plant ID skills collect and preserve plants for our very own pressed plant library, the UC Davis Center for Plant Diversity Herbarium.
During this informational meeting, fellow students who already have taken PLS127 would love to tell you about their own exciting experiences with this class. Dr. Dan Potter, the course instructor, and Ph.D. student Will McMahan, one of the T.A.s, also will be there to discuss details of the course and answer questions.
"Systematics of Vascular Plants" – The official name of PLS 127 may sound intimidating, but you’ll learn basic botanist’s tools that will help you get JOBS with outfits like the National Park Service, California Parks, environmental consulting firms and nonprofit organizations. It will look GREAT on your transcript!
This upper-division class will be taught in spring quarter. Registration opens Feb. 3!
PLS 127* is cross-listed as PLB/EVE 127 and will count towards all of those majors. It may also count as an elective for the biological sciences major and perhaps others. PLEASE contact your advisor to make sure!
