Research interests and expertise:
Elucidation of signaling pathways that regulate plant senescence, ripening and abscission, and molecular manipulation of plant responses to abiotic/biotic stresses.
Current projects:
- USDA ARS CRIS (5306-21000-022-00D), Improvement of Postharvest Performance of Ornamentals Using Molecular Genetic Approaches.
- CDFA, Project #33834. Development of versatile Phytophthora resistant almond and walnut rootstocks using host induced gene silencing.
